Ways to help

Make room
for someone.

Invite a Veteran you know to spend time together. Let their interests and comfort guide the plans.

Do something
you both enjoy.

Suggest a meal, a walk, or a call. Offer a time and leave room for another suggestion.

Spend time together without pressure to talk about anything they do not want to share.

Give them
room to talk.

“What would be useful to you?”

Listen before offering advice. Ask whether an introduction or resource would help, and let them choose what happens next.

Keep your word.

If you agreed to call, call. If you offered an introduction, ask what can be shared and make it. If plans change, let them know.
